[Problem] To provide an ion exchange membrane for vanadium redox batteries, which has excellent chemical durability, excellent heat resistance and low resistivity, while being suppressed in vanadium ion permeation. [Solution] An ion exchange membrane for vanadium redox batteries, which is characterized by containing a polymer that comprises a moiety represented by general formula (1) and a component containing a sulfonic acid group. In the formula, X represents a monovalent or divalent group that is a nitrile group, an amide group, an ester group or a carboxyl group; Z represents an O atom or an S atom; and Ar' represents a divalent aromatic group.
