Embodiments of the present invention provide a network-capable RAID controller for a storage device of a serial attached small computer system interface/serial advanced technology attachment (PCI-Express) type that supports a low-speed data processing speed for a host. Specifically, embodiments of this invention provide a network-capable RAID controller coupled to one or more (i.e., a set of) semiconductor storage devices (SSDs). Among other components, the network-capable RAID controller comprises an input/output (I/O) controller coupled to a network interface.
