An ester compound represented by formula (1): wherein R1 represents hydrogen atom, halogen atom, methyl group, methoxy group or methoxymethyl group; R2 represents a C1-C3 alkyl group; and a relative configuration between the substituent at the 1-position of the cyclopropane ring and the substituent at the 3-position of the cyclopropane ring is a trans configuration, has an excellent pest control effect.
