The invention relates to a process for preparing a fuel for Diesel engines. According to the invention, the process consists in transesterifying the triglycerides from vegetable oils, such as sunflower oil, with ethanol, in the presence of KOH catalyst, at a temperature of 50...60°C, for 2h, the resulting emulsion being then washed 2 or 3 times, while vigorously stirring, with an aqueous solution of tannic acid in a concentration of 0.2%, after which the product is distilled under vacuum, at a pressure of 10 mmHg and a temperature of 120°C, to finally result in a fuel having a cetane number of 55, an ignition point of 110°C, a density of 865 kg/mat the temperature of 12°C, a viscosity of 4.4 mm/s and a sulphur content of up to 10 mg/kg, which is used in a concentration of 5...20% in admixture with gas-oil for Diesel engines.
|
