The system has a battery housing in which a transport apparatus is integrated for transporting rechargeable batteries (7, 9) and a battery (8) out of an electric vehicle with wheels (2, 3). The batteries are internally moved into the electric vehicle by the transport apparatus, where one of the rechargeable batteries is inserted into a retention space of the electric vehicle. The transport apparatus comprises two wheels arranged at corners of the housing. A covering covers handles, and is provided at the battery housing. An independent claim is also included for an electric vehicle.
