Purifying and concentrating hydrogen fluoride containing sulfuric acid, comprises (a) stripping the hydrogen fluoride containing sulfuric acid in a stripping column with steam in a countercurrent manner, to obtain stripped sulfuric acid exhibiting a residual hydrogen fluoride content of less than 1 ppm, and (b) concentrating the sulfuric acid.
