The drive shaft (1) has a cam (2) or eccentric rotatable around a longitudinal axis (A) of the drive shaft and a thrust surface (3) extending perpendicularly with respect to the longitudinal axis. The thrust surface cooperates with a housing part of the high-pressure fuel pump or an inserted bearing component. The thrust surface is formed on a separate thrust washer which is connected with the drive shaft in a form-fit manner. The thrust washer is formed of a metal, metal alloy or a bearing material, such as polytetrafluoroethylene or polyether ether ketone.
