<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the displacement of a portion of an arm etc. <P>SOLUTION: A robot according to embodiments includes a speed reducer 42a, a first shaft 61, a motor 41a, a second shaft 62, and an external brake 44a. The speed reducer 42a reduces and outputs the rotation to be input into an input unit 422. The first shaft 61 is connected to the input unit 422. The motor 41a rotates the first shaft 61.
