The present invention relates to a method for enhancing plant crop yields or resistance to environmental stress using DHAR(dehydroascorbate reductase) genes derived from rice (Oryza sativa) or MDHAR (monodehydroascorbate reductase) genes derived from napa cabbage (Brassica rapa); to a method for producing a transgenic plant exhibiting enhanced plant crop yields and resistance to environmental stress using DHAR genes or MDHAR genes; to the transgenic plant exhibiting enhanced plant crop yields and resistance to environmental stress produced by the method, and to seeds thereof; and to a composition including DHAR genes or MDHAR genes for enhancing plant crop yields and resistance to environmental stress.
