The coagulation instrument (10) has a shaft tube (20) and an actuating element that is axially displaceable in the shaft tube relative to the shaft tube. The actuating element is formed as electrode conductor that is contacted with an electrical connection for a cable. A handle is arranged at the proximal end of the coagulation instrument and has two gripping arms (41). The handle is arranged in the longitudinal axis (L) of the coagulation instrument. The gripping arms are pivotally connected with the shaft tube at its proximal ends against the longitudinal axis of the coagulation instrument.
