<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device for a vehicle, the device appropriately displaying each of an image giving priority to visibility and an image giving priority to achieving a purpose of display. <P>SOLUTION: A liquid crystal panel illuminated by a light source in a display device for a vehicle has warning display pixels which display a warning image when abnormality occurs as a specific time, and meter display pixels which display a meter image at a normal time when the warning image is not displayed by the warning display pixels, and at a time when abnormality occurs. A control circuit controlling the liquid crystal panel and the light source has a first mode to allow the light source to emit light and a second mode to allow the light source to emit light at a luminance lower than that of the first mode as its set control modes. In the second mode, the control circuit makes a gradation value of the meter display pixel at a normal time and at a time when abnormality occurs variable within a range ΔTM from the maximum value TMmax and below, while maintaining the gradation value of the warning display pixel at the time when abnormality occurs at a certain maximum value TWmax. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
