<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin wire rod, as a transparent wire rod, applicable to a columnar support for sales promotion articles such as an eye-catcher and a small banner. <P>SOLUTION: This transparent wire rod is obtained through the steps of: preparing a rod-like article obtained by dehydration condensation between terephthalic acid and/or derivative thereof and glycol modified product; stretch-processing the rod-like article by 3-10 fold while heating and winding the stretched article; putting the wound article around two poles spaced apart; and heating the article to dry and cutting the linear section.
