<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a position detection unit detect an end position in a paper sheet width direction with a high degree of accuracy, while preventing an increase of the cost. <P>SOLUTION: A paper sheet position detection unit (the position detection unit) scans a paper sheet conveyed by a paper sheet conveyor which is driven by driving force of a driving source, in the paper sheet width direction, and detects the end position in the paper sheet width direction of the paper sheet. The paper sheet position detection unit includes: a moving holder 74 having an upper surface 74a and a lower surface 74b which are arranged opposite to each other and being movable in the paper sheet width direction in a reciprocating manner; a pair of sensors 75-78 irradiated with light and receiving light between the upper surface 74a and the lower surface 74b to detect presence of the paper sheet; a detection sensor for detecting that the paper sheet is passing through; and a cam for reciprocating and moving the moving holder 74 with the driving force of the driving source. When the detection sensor detects passing of the paper sheet, the detection part scans an end of the paper sheet passing through between the upper surface 74a and the lower surface 74b with the pair of sensors 75-78 to detect the end position in the paper sheet width direction, while allowing the cam to reciprocate and move the moving holder 74 in the paper sheet width direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
