The heat exchanger housing (10) comprises a bottom area (16) and a peripheral wall (18) adjoining the bottom area in the direction of a longitudinal axis (L). Multiple heat transferring ribs (32) extending from the bottom area to a free end area (30) of the peripheral wall are provided on an inner side (20) of the peripheral wall. The peripheral wall has an opening angle (W-1) in a peripheral area in the extending area of the heat transferring ribs corresponding to the longitudinal axis, where the opening angle is larger than a rib apex of a portion of the heat transferring ribs.
