PROCESS FOR PREPARING PIPERAZINE DERIVATIVE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide piperazine derivative useful as intermediates for the preparation of mirtazapine, and to provide a process for preparing the same.

SOLUTION: An oxalate of the piperazine derivative (V) can be obtained by reacting the piperazine derivative expressed by the formula (V) with an oxalic acid or its dihydrate in a mixed solvent of ethyl acetate and methanol.
