<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a processing device and a processing method which allow for easy processing of a cut object, and highly accurate formation of a superconducting acceleration cavity. <P>SOLUTION: The processing device which forms a half cell 10 by processing a hollow work-piece 10A having a large diameter part 11 on one end side and a small diameter part 12 on the other end side comprises a fixing jig 1 which fixes the work-piece 10A, a rotary drive section which rotates the fixing jig 1, and a cutting tool 4 which cuts the work-piece 10A. The fixing jig 1 consists of a plurality of members, and when a first cut part of the work-piece 10A is cut, the plurality of members are combined in a first pattern so as to expose the first cut part. When a second cut part of the work-piece 10A is cut, the plurality of members are combined in a second pattern so as to expose a second cut part.
