<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect errors without adding any other mechanism when a size of a reversing unit is smaller than that of a recording medium, and to continue recording if such errors are not caused by a paper jam. <P>SOLUTION: A recording apparatus for recording the recording medium using a recording head includes: the reversing unit that reverses the recording medium to record on a second surface being a rear surface of a first surface after termination of conveyance for recording of the first surface of the recording medium, and includes a reversing roller for conveying the recording medium to a conveyance path of the reversing unit; a detecting portion for detecting a load of the reversing roller when the recording medium is conveyed on the conveyance path; and a control portion for controlling so as to continue conveyance, when the detecting portion detects a load equal to or more than a predetermined value, if the recording medium is conveyed on the conveyance path of the reversing unit and thereafter a fore end of the recording medium exceeds a threshold value that is an estimated distance where the fore end comes into contact with a region of a rear end of the recording medium. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
