<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a benefit to be granted to a customer who brings an own-bag in response to commodities purchased by him/her. <P>SOLUTION: Commodity sales data is stored in a RAM 23 for each commodity code input by a scanner 37 on the basis of commodity setting information. It is determined whether a register bag classification information exists in the commodity sales data. When the register bag classification information does not exist, register bag information including a register bag classification and the number of register bags needed is calculated from a register bag master file 16 on the basis of a total value of commodity volume stored in the RAM 23. When making an own-bag declaration by an own-bag key 29b, a discount amount is calculated from the register bag classification information.
