PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a block copolymer suitable as a raw material for obtaining a crosslinkable rubber composition useful as a rubber material for tires.

SOLUTION: This block copolymer is produced by further polymerizing an isobutylene polymer having an average polymerization degree of 4.0×102to 2.0×104and having a growing terminal with a vinyl ether compound represented by formula (1): CH2=CH-O-(X)n-Y, [where X represents a divalent group; Y represents an unsubstituted or substituted alicyclic group having an unsaturated bond; and n represents 0 or 1].
