PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved communication cable having a core lay length varying along the cable length.

SOLUTION: A communication cable in which twisted wire pairs are mutually twisted at a core lay length that varies along a cable length, has a periodic interval prescribed by a first segment length, a first cable segment 16 having a first core lay length along the first segment length, a second segment length, a second cable segment 24 having a second core lay length different from the first core lay length along the second segment length, and a jitter distance z that is added to at least one of the first segment length and the second segment length and that varies along the communication cable length.
