Embodiments of the present invention disclose a system and method for providing home automation using a mobile device. According to one embodiment, communication is established between the mobile device and a home appliance device, and a process request is sent from the mobile device to the home appliance device. In response, an operation associated with the received process request is executed by the home appliance device.
