A method and equipment for determining (measuring) the level/height, h-h, of, at least, one interface between at least two fluid phases of different density that are contained in a vessel, tank (1) or the like by measuring the pressure and thus indirectly determining the density of the fluid in the tank over the height of the tank by using a pressure measuring rod (2) equipped with pressure sensors (3) which is positioned in and extends over the height of the tank (1), wherein a number of pressure sensors exceeds a number of determined variables wherein the interface of fluid phases is determined as a respective point (level) at which the density changes from one layer to the next in the tank. For carrying out said method equipment is proposed for determining the level/height of at least one h-h, interface between, at least, two fluids media (fluid phases) of different density that are contained in a vessel, tank (1) or the like, comprising a pressure measuring rod (2) equipped with pressure sensors (3) distributed along the whole length of the rod, wherein a number of pressure sensors exceeds a number of determined variables. |
