The device (1) has two guide rollers (3, 4) rotating around a band (2), and a treatment gap (N) formed for treating of fibrous web (W) e.g. paper. A contaminant inhibiting device (9) utilized for preventing entering of contaminants (8) e.g. small stones, is arranged in the treatment gap, where the device is arranged in a running direction (X) of the fibrous web provided in front of the treatment gap. The inhibiting device comprises a detection device (10) that includes a pressure-sensitive component e.g. squeegee, that is contact with the fibrous web. An independent claim is also included for a method for processing a fibrous web.
