The testing apparatus (100) has a lever arm (101) for fixing the primary component (201) of a shaft coupling (200). A supporting arm (107) is equipped for fixing the secondary component (203). A hydraulic cylinder (109) is provided for moving the primary component relative to secondary component about a rotation axis. A force gage (103) is provided for detecting the circumferential force of hydraulic cylinder. A decoupling element (106) is equipped for intercepting the radial force of hydraulic cylinder over force gage.
