PURPOSE: A protein cysteine-(S)-thiosulfonic acid and a biomarker containing the same are provided to measure oxidation level of disease-associated proteins and to be used in clinic analysis using an antibody. CONSTITUTION: A variant of a novel protein cysteine is denoted by chemical formula 1(protein-Cys-SO_2-SH). The variant is induced by oxidation of a protein with disulfide bond. The protein is GAPDH(glyceralaldehyde-3-phospahte dihydronase), NDPK A(nucleoside diphosphate kinase A), peroxiredoxin(PRDX6), or mouse mitochondria proteins. A biomarker for diagnosing ROS-related diseases contains the variant as an active ingredient. The ROS-related diseases include inflammatory diseases, cancer, immune disease, brain disease, or cardiovascular disease. |
