<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an insert for a tool, and the tool for assembling a bone anchoring device. <P>SOLUTION: This insert (320, 420) includes: a bone anchoring element (1) having a head part (3) and a shaft (2) to be anchored in a bone; and a reception part. The insert (320, 420) is configured to be inserted into a recessed part (302a, 402a) in the long direction of a holder (302, 402) of the tool (300, 400).
