<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a load to be applied to a supply roller 24 during initial driving. <P>SOLUTION: A developing device includes: a developing roller 25 drive gear fixed to a core bar 25a of the developing roller 25 and driven by developing drive means M; a supply roller drive gear 7 adjacent to the core bar 24a of the supply roller 24 and held in a standby position that does not transmit the drive; and a biasing member 11 that biases the supply roller drive gear 7 toward the supply roller 24. The core bar 24a of the supply roller 24 can be engaged with the supply roller drive gear 7. During initial drive of the developing roller 25, when the core bar 25a of the developing roller 25 rotates at a predetermined angle, the supply roller drive gear 7 located in the standby position is biased by the biasing member to move to a drive position for engaging with the core bar 24a of the supply roller 24, and is locked to the developing roller 25 drive gear. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
