<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To express the image density of each pixel using smooth gradation which is close to a linear characteristic at a cost usable as a machine type for a general office. <P>SOLUTION: A region for one pixel is divided into three regions, a first division region, a second division region, and a third division region from the downstream side to the upstream side in a sub-scanning direction. The image density of each pixel is expressed at eight stages by separately controlling the existence of dot writing on each of the division regions. Small-sized dots are formed on the second division region, middle-sized dots are formed on the first division region, and large-sized dots are formed on the third division region. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
