<p>Synthetic grass mat, which simulates the thickness of natural turf, is characterised by (a) a wear resistant base formed of synthetic fibres, (b) a grass-like pile surface consisting of pigmented thermoplastic monofilament ribbon, and (c) an adhesive layer, placed on the base, and holding the ribbons in place. The mat is pref. bonded to a support of elastomer material. The ribbons have a practically rectangular cross-section, and have a size of at least 300 denier, pref. 500-900 denier, and have a thickness of 0.025-0.075 mm. and a width of 0.25-5.0 mm. The ribbons and the base fibres may be woven or knitted; or the base may be non-woven material, in which the fibres are inlaid.</p> |
