PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a security system which can activate or deactivate monitoring operation for an electronic device by using proximity wireless.

SOLUTION: A cradle 5 can perform communication by proximity wireless with a personal computer 6 which is an antitheft monitoring target. A server 3 transmits a control signal for activating monitoring operation for the personal computer 6 to the cradle 5, when a user has left work. The cradle 5 monitors the personal computer 6 by executing communication by proximity wireless with the personal computer 6. After receiving the control signal for activating monitoring operation for the personal computer 6, if the cradle 5 cannot perform communication by proximity wireless with the personal computer 6, the cradle 5 outputs warning information.
