The present invention discloses a solution for the configuration of a user interface (100, 250, 280, 281) installed in conjunction with a transport system (200). The user interface comprises at least one display element (303) having a radio-frequency transponder (302) in conjunction with it. The configuration data for the display element are fed to a terminal device (120) compatible with the transponder manually and/or via a wireless data transfer connection (125, 230). The configuration data are transmitted from the terminal device to the transponder to configure the information presented on the display element.
