The carbon fibre felt may be produced by the carbonization of cotton wool or paper tissues. Dispersion of the nitrate on the felt may be assisted by a wetting agent (e.g. acetic acid or butyric acid in the case of a nitrate of a fissile metal). The examples describe the production of the oxide of plutonium, uranium, zinc and cobalt. |
