A coin freed or coin operated table football game 1 comprises a ball 5, a rectangular playing surface A,B,C,D, a playing figure 9 provided centrally of the playing surface, and targets 2 provided at the opposing short edges of the playing surface. The playing surface slopes downwardly from each edge towards an area 4 occupied by the playing figure such that the ball moves under gravity towards the playing figure. The targets 2 comprise pressure sensors for measuring impacts between the ball and targets, and impacts are indicated using light and/or sound emitting means 6. The player figure is mounted on a control rod or bar 3 spanning the long edges of the playing surface, such that rotation of the control rod around its axis causes the player figure to strike the ball towards the targets. The sensors measure impacts between the ball and target, and a prize is awarded to the player according to the impact forces. The game is intended for use in a business such as a bar or restaurant, with the prizes being connected to services offered by the business, such as free drinks or food. The apparatus preferably measure 60cm x 90cm.
