PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing a liquid crystal display is provided to prevent light leakage in the peripheral region of a pixel electrode by using a metal sacrificial layer for a lift-off process. CONSTITUTION: A light shielding layer(110) is formed on a substrate(100). A first and a second contact hole are formed on an inter-layer insulating film(116). A third contact hole is formed on a first passivation film(125). A common electrode(105) is formed in a pixel region. A first connection electrode(105a) is formed on a drain electrode. A pixel electrode is formed in the pixel region by performing a mask process and a lift-off process after a sacrificial layer(141) and a second passivation film(140) are formed.
