PURPOSE: An air conditioner for a vehicle is provided to prevent sudden change of air temperature discharging from an air conditioning case even if an engine stops in cooling and heating modes. CONSTITUTION: An air conditioner for a vehicle comprises an air conditioning case(110), an evaporator(101), a heater core(102), a storage tank(140), and a bypass unit(150). The storage tank stores cooling water circulating in the heater core. A refrigerant pipe(101a) is connected to the evaporator in order to heat-exchange between the cooling water in the storage tank and refrigerant circulating in the evaporator. The refrigerant pipe is penetrated through the storage tank. The bypass unit selectively bypasses the storage tank in a cooling water circulating line circulating the heater core and the storage tank. In the cooling and heating modes, the cooling and heating energy is stored in the cooling water in the storage tank. If the engine stops, the cooling water stored the cooling and heating energy is circulated in the heater core to prevent rapidly changing the discharged air temperature from the air conditioning case. |
