1,262,881. Assembling venetian blinds. B. WESTBERG. 7 Feb., 1969 [9 Feb., 1968], No. 6895/69. Heading E1J. An apparatus for assembling slats in the cord or tape ladders of a venetian blind whereby the lift cords are threaded through the cross-cords of the cord ladders, which cross-cords are disposed alternately and successively on opposite sides of the lift cords, the slots are fed individually from a stack 5, Fig. 11, through feed rollers 64, 65, the slat being scanned by a first mechanical scanner 48 and second mechanical scanner 47 interworking with the first scanner, the second scanner by means of an electrical switch 52 synchronously controlling an electromagnetic device 8, Fig. 2, which operates the lift arm 5 of spaced units to raise and lower linear path slat lifters 18 carrying the slat fed to them on a bed 20 to raise it to an upper position where, on the descent of the bed the slat is caught on two spring biased dogs 75 at each unit to retain the stack of slats already fed thereto and during this lifting operation the cord ladders are stepped up in ladder guides 7 which are alternated at each operation of the arm 15 and slat lifters 18 by means of a follower pin 19 on one of the latter which follows a cam plate 35 on an oscillatable control plate 33 which on operation moves a linkage 30-40 attached thereto to alternate the ladder guides 7. The lift cord is threaded through the stack of slats on the dogs 75 with all their lift. cord holes in alignment, by a needle device 29. |
