A hinge as shown comprises a member made of resilient plastics materials, consisting of two wings 3, 3' interconnected by a flexible web 15, which forms the pivot of the hinge, the member having a channel-shaped crosssection in the closed position. The wings are embraced by channel shaped stiffening strips 4, 4' made of aluminium alloy, which are provided with projections 16 which limit the closing of the hinge, and define a space 6 when the hinge is in the closed position. The space 6 accommodates the projecting ends of the rivets 5, 5' (used for securing the hinge to a door frame 7 and door 7') so that they are invisible when the hinge is in the closed position. In an alternative embodiment (Fig. 2, not shown), strips of plastics material which are provided with projections are attached to the inner sides of the hinge. |
