Composite material for medical device

The composite material (1) comprises a layer comprising an absorbing foam (4), and a layer (2) comprising a textile support having openings (7) and silicone gel (3). The silicone gel impregnates the textile support without filling the openings of the textile support. The textile support has a knitted structure, and comprises filaments including a synthetic material. The absorbing foam has a thickness of 1-10 mm, and contains therapeutic and/or prophylactic active ingredients. Independent claims are included for: (1) a medical device; and (2) a process for fabricating a composite material.
