The subject of the invention provides a versatile direct or indirect cushioned drive arrangement in an identical location (footprint) within the chassis between the blade rotor and electricity generator which are interchangeable to allow various rotational speed ratios between the rotational speed of a wind turbine blade rotor drive shaft and the rotational speed of the electricity generator. The invention also provides a means to automatically engage/disengage the blade rotor drive shaft to/from the driven electricity generator.
