The invention relates to a card-shaped data carrier (30) which comprises a card base (32) having an upper face, a lower face and a thickness of more than 100 µm. Said base is provided, in at least one section thereof, with respective metallic coatings (34, 36) on its upper and lower face. The two metallic coatings at least partially overlap when viewed from above through the card base. The metallic coatings (34, 36) are provided with grid patterns which reproduce, when viewed from above through the card base in a predetermined direction of view, information that starkly contrasts with the metallic coating. |
