<p>1302086 Valves ACF INDUSTRIES Inc 11 March 1970 [21 April 1969] 11630/70 Heading F2V A reciprocating gate valve is operated by a piston 62 movable within a cylinder 60 against biasing means 64 and has externally operable means 106 linearly movable into the cylinder and into abutment with the piston. The cylinder is enclosed by a shroud 44 actuated by a nut 92 to cause clamp 42 to secure a base member 36 to the valve body 12. Passages 68, 70, 76 admit fluid to the space above the piston which may also be displaced by a second smaller diameter piston 136 connected through a manually operable valve 150 to a grease gun 158. The piston 136 replaces a mechanical actuator 112 which does not form part of the invention. The valve may be one of a series controlling operation of a wellhead.</p> |
