PURPOSE: A composition containing a Quamoclit extract is provided to reduce blood glucose and to prevent or treat diabetic complication. CONSTITUTION: A pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating diabetic complication contains a Quamoclit extract as an active ingredient. Quamoclit includes Quamoclit angulata or Quamoclit coccinea Moench. The extract is prepared using water, alcohol, organic solvent, or a mixture thereof. The pharmaceutical composition additionally contains an extract prepared by culturing a Quamoclit plant or a tissue thereof and a compound prepared from the extract.
