PURPOSE: A charging cable device for an electric vehicle and a charging method thereof using the same are provided to prevent the charging cable device from being lost by controlling power supplied to the electric vehicle. CONSTITUTION: A communication module(110) communicates with an electric vehicle. A charging control module(120) controls power supplied to an electric vehicle according to a comparison result after vehicle information received from the communication module is compared with preset vehicle information. The charging control module supplies power to the electric vehicle if the vehicle information received from the communication module is identical to the preset vehicle information. The charging control module blocks power supplied to the electric vehicle if the vehicle information received from the communication module is not identical to the preset vehicle information.
