PURPOSE: A method for supporting a search by using only an initial consonant and a final consonant and a search support system are provided to supply a right search result without the omission of a desired search result when a search word is wrongly inputted, the search word is not inputted through standard writing, or a processing target word is different from the search word. CONSTITUTION: An initial/final consonant extracting module(1110) extracts an initial consonant part and a final consonant part from a processing target word included in obtained search target information. A search target generating module(1200) composes a search target field or a search index for searching the initial consonant part and the final consonant part. A search support module(1300) inquires into the search target field or the search index with a search word received from a user through a search word input UI(User Interface) in order to provide a search result. The search target field or the search index is stored in a search target information data unit(1400).
