<p>PURPOSE: A transparent display device is provided to prevent a glare phenomenon by controlling an optical distribution and transmission unit arranged at one side of a light source unit. CONSTITUTION: A light diffusion and transmission unit(140) selectively diffuses and transmits light emitted from a light source uni by controlling transmission rates according to a control signal . The light diffusion and transmission unit is arranged at one side of a light source unit(130). A user input unit(150) generates a user input signal for controlling the operation of the light source unit and the light diffusion and transmission unit. A microcontroller(160) controls the operation of the light diffusion and transmission unit. When a subject is gloss, the microcontroller opaquely operates the light diffusion and transmission unit based on a user input signal inputted by the user input unit. The microcontroller controls the brightness of the light source unit. When the subject is non-gloss, the microcontroller controls the brightness of the light source unit by transparently operating the light diffusion and transmission unit.
