Head has a fixed and a movable jaw for weft thread, and hook(s) on each jaw. A ring of resilient pref. plastics is supported on a ledge on a plate detachable secured to the fixed jaws and extends rectilinearly opposite the movable jaw. The side of the plate adjacent a part of the ring has the same height as the ring.
