PURPOSE: An apparatus for controlling a crane is provided to automatically control a driving part of a crane by implementing a vibration damping mode for removing vibration of objects on the crane; thereby effectively removing vibration of the objects. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for controlling a crane comprises a crane(100), a location detector(200), and a controller. The location detector is installed in a driving unit(110) and/or a hoist(120) of the crane. The location detector detects location information on two-dimensional plane when an object moves or stops. The controller receives the location information of the object detecting from the location detector and compares with pre-set reference location range. If the detected location information is not within the referent location range, the operation of the driving unit is controlled so that the object can be within the reference range. |
