PURPOSE: A face identifying method and a device thereof are provided to accurately identify a face in an image, and to reduce the number of errors which falsely identify the face from the image. CONSTITUTION: A cascade classification device(31) includes homogeneous classification devices. The cascade classification device classifies input vectors into a face type and a non-face type based on an input image. A circle detector(2211) detects a circle in the input image by using Hough transform. An image analyzer(2212) forms image fragments of the same size in detected circles.
