The invention relates to a method for coating the surface of inorganic solid particles in an aqueous suspension, in particular for coating titanium dioxide with SiO. The method comprises the steps: a) deagglomeration of the solid particles situated in an aqueous suspension, b) addition of a water-soluble precursor compound of the coating substance to the suspension, c) homogenization of the suspension in a dispersion apparatus immediately following step b), wherein, in steps a) to c), temperature and pH of the suspension do not change significantly, d) transport of the suspension into a container and precipitation of the coating substance onto the particle surface and optionally application of further coatings, e) removing the solid particles from the suspension. The method leads to a very uniform and closed sheath on the particle surface and to less coaling substance which is precipitated out separately. |
