Disclosed is an integration framework for facilitating communication of a plurality of grid and power system components with a central power grid authority that manages a power grid. The grid and power system components are configured to generate operational data and event data within the power grid. The integration framework is comprised of an operational bus (146) configured to communicate the operational data to the central power grid authority and an event bus (147) configured to communicate the event data to the central power grid authority. The operational data comprises at least one real-time measurement of voltage, current, real power, or reactive power for at least a part of the power grid. The event data is distinct from and derived from the real-time measurement above and comprises at least one analytical determination as to operation of the power grid based on the at least one real time measurement. The event bus (147) is separate from the operational bus (146). The operational bus (146) is configured to communicate the operational data and not the event data and the event bus (147) is configured to communicate the event data and not the operational data. |
